Chocolate Peda is a very simple and easy to make sweet made for special occasions and festivals like Diwali.  Kids will love this delicious dessert and it takes only 20 minutes to make this.

While the original recipe calls for a microwave, there is an alternate version for those who do not have one.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk Powder
  • 1/2 cup Condensed Milk
  • 3 tsp Cocoa Powder
  • 3 tsp Butter
  • 1/2 tsp Vanilla Essence
  • 8 to 10 Broken Cashews or Pistachios

Instructions

  • Take a wide microwave bowl and add the butter.
  • Heat for 30 seconds in microwave.
  • Add the milk powder, condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla essence and mix well.
  • Heat this mixture for a minute.
  • Take it out, mix well and then heat for another 1/2 minute.
  • Take it out and rest it for a while.
  • Apply ghee on palm and make small balls and gently press it on top.
  • Decorate it with cashew on top and serve.

Note: If you do not have a microwave, follow the below steps:

  • Heat a non-stick pan over medium flame.
  • Add the butter and heat for 30 seconds or until butter has fully melted. Switch off the flame.
  • Add the milk powder, condensed milk, cocoa powder, vanilla essence and mix well.
  • Switch on the flame and keep it at low. Heat this mixture for a minute. Keep stirring continuously until the mixture leaves the sides of the pan.
  • Switch off the flame and remove the pan. Allow the mixture to cool for a while.
  • Apply ghee on palm and make small balls and gently press it on top.
  • Decorate it with cashew on top and serve.
