Lal Paneer Recipe

Paneer – 250 gms, sliced into 4 or more
Spring Onions – 1/2 cup, chopped, for garnish
Oil – 1 tblsp

For the masala paste:
Red Chillies – 2
Vinegar – 1 tblsp
Bengal Gram Dal – 1 tblsp, roasted
Garlic – 1 tblsp, chopped
Onion – 3 to 4 tblsp, chopped
Cloves – 2
Black Peppercorns – 2
Cinnamon – 1/2 inch piece, broken
Mace – 6

1. Soak the masala ingredients for an hour and grind to a smooth paste.
2. Add the paneer pieces to a bowl.
3. Add the masala and mix well until the paneer pieces are coated well.
4. Marinate the paneer for 1 hour.
5. Heat a non-stick pan over medium flame.
6. Arrange the paneer pieces and cook for 4 minutes on each side until browned evenly.
7. Remove and transfer to a serving dish.
8. Garnish with the spring onions.
9. Serve.
