Ingredients:
Black Beans – 2 cups, washed, drained, rinsed
Bread Crumbs – 1/4 cup
Egg – 1
Spring Onions – 2, minced
Coriander Leaves – 1 1/2 tblsp, chopped
Garlic – 1 clove, minced
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Oregano – 3/4 tsp, dried
Red Chilli Flakes – 1 tsp
Sea Salt – 1/2 tsp
Black Pepper Powder – 1/4 tsp
Burger Buns – 3
Method:
1. Grind 1 cup of black beans until chunky.
2. Transfer to a large bowl.
3. Add the remaining beans, egg, spring onions, coriander leaves, garlic, cumin, oregano and red chilli flakes.
4. Mix well.
5. Shape this into 2 to 4 round patties.
6. Place them on a plate in the fridge for 20 minutes.
7. Remove the patties from the fridge.
8. Sprinkle salt and pepper.
9. Heat a pan over medium flame.
10. Add the burger patties and cook for 4 to 5 minutes on each side.
11. Cut the burger buns into half and place one of the patties on one half.
12. Add cheese, lettuce, onion rings, tomato, cucumber, ketchup, mustard and cover with the other half.
13. Serve at once.
This makes 2 to 3 burgers depending on the patti size.
