Ingredients

  • 250 gms Boneless Fish
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Nutmeg (grated)
  • 1/2 cup Cheese (grated)
  • 1 sprig Mint
  • 1 Tomato

Instructions

  • Clean the fish and wash it.
  • Drain thoroughly.
  • Place the fish in a pan over high heat with just enough water to cover.
  • Boil until the fish is tender.
  • Drain the fish and mash it.
  • Mix the breadcrumbs with the milk.
  • Add the salt, pepper, mustard powder and nutmeg.
  • Mix well.
  • Add the fish and mix until it is well blended.
  • Grease a rectangular baking dish and pour half the fish paste into it.
  • Sprinkle half the cheese over the mixture.
  • Spread the mint leaves on top.
  • Slice the tomato and arrange it over the mixture.
  • Spread the remaining fish paste over this.
  • Preheat the oven to 180C.
  • Place the fish in the oven and bake for about 30 minutes until it is firm.
  • Remove the fish from the oven and sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top.
  • Return it to the oven and bake for about 15 minutes longer until the cheese melts and is golden brown.
  • Serve hot with bread or garlic toast.
