I learned this recipe from my grandmother, and it’s been a family favorite for years.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use lamb instead of mutton?

Yes. Lamb works great in this recipe. It might cook faster than mutton, so reduce the pressure cooking time to 6 whistles.

How can I make this recipe less spicy?

Reduce the green chilies and red chili powder by half. You can also increase the cashews for a milder, richer gravy.

Can I make this without a pressure cooker?

Use a heavy-bottom pot with a tight lid. Cook on low heat for about 1.5 hours or until the meat is tender.
