Moong Daalma

A speciality of Orissa.
Moong Dal – 1 cup
Raw Banana – 2, peeled and cubed
Potato – 2, peeled and cubed
Brinjal – 1, cubed
Drumstick – 2, cut into three inch pieces
Ghee-  4 tsp
Red Chillies – 4 tsp
Water – 3 to 4 cups
Mustard Seeds – 1 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 3 tsp
Salt as per taste

1. Roast the moong dal on a dry pan till it changes colour.
2. Wash and boil it in water.
3. Add salt and cook for 2 to 3 minutes.
4. Add potatoes, brinjals and cubed bananas.
5. When the dal is almost cooked, add the drumstick pieces.
6. Remove from heat when done.
7. Temper with mustard seeds.
8. Dry roast cumin and chillies.
9. Powder them and sprinkle on top.
10. Serve.
