Ingredients:
Chow Chow (Chayote / Bangalore Kathirikkai) – 1, small, chopped
Tomato – 1, chopped
Onion – 1, chopped
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece, peeled, cleaned
Green Chillies – 5
Curry Leaves – few
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Urad Dal – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan.
2. Saute the onions, tomatoes, green chillies, ginger and chow chow.
3. Remove and cool.
4. Add salt and a little water.
5. Grind to a smooth paste.
6. Heat the remaining oil in the pan.
7. Fry the mustard seeds and urad dal till the seeds start to splutter.
8. Add to the chutney.
9. Serve.
