Ingredients:
Chicken – 1 1/2 kg (boneless)
Cloves – 7 to 8
Coconut – 1/2 cup, grated
Turmeric powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilli powder – 2 tbsp
Onion – 2, sliced
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Ginger – 1 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 10 – 12 cloves
Tomato – 2, chopped
Cinnamon – 1
Fennel seeds – 1/2 tsp
Cashew nuts – 7 to 10
Black pepper – 7 to 8
Coriander seeds – 1 1/2 tbsp
Method:
1. Mix the ginger, garlic, yogurt and make a thick paste with it.
2. Heat some oil in a pan and fry the onions till they turn golden brown.
3. To the onions, add the yogurt paste that had been made earlier.
4. Then add the chilli and turmeric powder and fry for two more minutes.
5. Now add the tomatoes and fry for another 5 minutes. After this add the chicken and the salt.
6. Keep cooking the chicken for some time till it is cooked properly.
7. In another pan, mix the coconut, cloves, pepper, coriander, cinnamon, fennel seeds and cashew nuts to make a paste.
8. Once that is done, add the mixture to the chicken and let it boil.
9. Finally garnish with the coriander leaves and serve hot with fried rice or naan.
