Cauliflower

Gobi or Cauliflower is a vegetable in the Botrytis group, which includes cabbage, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, kale, and kohlrabi. All of these plants are actually variants of the same species, and cauliflower is formally known as Brassica oleracea var. botrytis. Like other vegetables in this group, which is part of the mustard family, cauliflower has a zesty, slightly spicy texture in both raw and cooked form. Most stores carry cauliflower at various points in the year.Cauliflower is very similar to its broccoli cousin in appearance. The head – called a “curd” – is made up of a central stalk with offshoot stems. Each cluster (called a floret or floweret) is formed from unopened buds.
