Honey Chilli Potato is an Indian-Chinese dish that has become popular around the world. It is a delicious combination of sweet, spicy and savory flavors that makes it a favorite among food lovers.

The dish is made by deep-frying potatoes and then tossing them in a sweet and spicy honey chili sauce. The dish can be served as an appetizer, snack or as a side to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 200 g Potatoes
  • 1 Garlic Clove finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
  • 1 tsp Kalonji (Nigella Seeds)
  • 1 to 2 tbsp Corn Flour - 1 to 2 tblsp
  • for frying Oil for frying
  • as per taste Salt
  • little White Sesame Seeds to garnish (optional)

For the Sauce:

  • 1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
  • 1 Garlic Clove finely chopped
  • 3/4 tsp Oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp Sesame Seeds
  • 1 1/2 tsp Tomato Sauce
  • 1 tsp Vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Honey
  • little Coriander Leaves chopped

Instructions

  • Boil the potatoes in slightly salted water.
  • Peel the skin and dice them into bite-sized pieces. Transfer to a bowl.
  • Add garlic, red chillies, kalonji, salt and corn flour.
  • Mix well and keep aside for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Heat oil in a frying pan.
  • Sprinkle a little water on the potatoes and toss well.
  • Deep fry the potatoes until golden and crisp, about 2 to 3 minutes.
  • Remove and drain excess oil.
  • To make the honey chilli sauce, heat oil in a pan.
  • Add garlic and fry until golden.
  • Add all the other ingredients and mix well.
  • After 30 to 45 seconds, add the fried potatoes.
  • Mix well until evenly coated.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve.

Notes

 You can also slice the potatoes instead of dicing them.
