Ingredients for Tomato Uttapam
2cupParboiled Rice
1cupUrad Dal
4Tomatoeschopped
1Onion medium, chopped (optional)
3 to 4Green Chilliesminced
1/4tspAsafoetida Powder
2Red Chillies broken
handfulCurry Leaveschopped
handfulCoriander Leaveschopped

How to make Tomato Uttapam
Separately soak the dal and rice for 3 to 4 hours.
Grind the dal to a smooth batter and keep aside.
Grind the rice to a dosa batter consistency.
Add the dal batter and mix well.
Keep aside for 3 to 4 hours.
Add the tomatoes, onions, green chillies, red chillies, asafoetida powder, curry leaves, coriander leaves and mix well.
Heat a nonstick tawa over medium flame.
Pour a ladleful of the batter and spread evenly.
Apply some oil around the edges and cook on both sides until golden brown.
