Jhal Muri Recipe

Also known as Kurmura, Jhal Muri is a popular street food (chaat) in India, particularly in the streets of Kolkata made with puffed rice, vegetables and spices.
Jhaal Muri
Ingredients:
Puffed Rice – 3 cups
Tomato – 1, deseeded, finely chopped
Black Chickpeas (Kala Chana) – 1/2 cup, boiled
Cucumber – 1, peeled, finely chopped
Green Chillies – 2, finely chopped
Onion – 1, finely chopped
Peanuts – 1/4 cup, skins removed, roasted
Mustard Oil (or Vegetable Oil) – 2 tsp
Coriander Leaves – 3 tblsp, chopped
Chaat Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Black Salt – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
Sev – 2 to 3 tblsp (optional)
Salt as per taste
Coconut – 1/4 cup, grated (optional), to garnish

Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Add the chaat masala powder, black salt, red chilli powder and cumin powder.
3. Remove from flame and mix well.
4. Combine all the other ingredients in a large bowl.
5. Add the masala and mix well.
6. Garnish with grated coconut and sev.
7. Serve at once.

    You can use standard Britannia cheese that you get in the super market.
