Ingredients:
Basmati Rice – 250 gms, soaked for 15 minutes
Potato – 1, finely chopped
Onions – 2, big, finely chopped
Red Chilli Powder – 3/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1/4 tsp
Curd – 3 tsp
Curry Leaves – few
Ghee – 2 tsp
Oil as required
Salt as per taste
Grind to a paste:
Ginger – 1 inch piece
Garlic – 3 to 4 cloves
Cardamoms – 2
Cloves – 2
Cinnamon – 1
Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan over medium flame.
2. Fry the onions and potatoes separately. Keep aside.
3. Heat some more oil and ghee in a pressure pan.
4. Add 1 tsp of the ground paste, onions, potatoes, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala powder, curd, salt and curry leaves.
5. Stir to mix well.
6. Pour enough water and bring to a boil.
7. Add rice and cook till the rice is done or until 2 whistles.
8. Transfer to a serving dish.
9. Serve hot.
