Paneer Popcorn

Paneer Popcorn is a super quick, crunchy snack for kids. Perfect during the summer holidays when kids will be bored and restless, this is an ideal anytime snack for them. A lip-smacking appetizer, this can be made in a jiffy with minimal ingredients and time. Best served with ketchup.

Paneer Popcorn

 

Ingredients:

  • Corn Flour – 1/2 cup
  • Black Peppercorns – 1/2 tsp, crushed
  • Breadcrumbs – 1 cup
  • Salt to Taste
  • Water – 1/4 cup
  • Oil for Deep Frying

For Marination:

  • Paneer Cubes – 10
  • Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
  • Pepper – 1/2 tsp, crushed
  • Mixed Herbs – 1 tsp
  • Salt to Taste

Method:

  1. To a large bowl, add the paneer pieces.
  2. Add the ingredients given for marination.
  3. Mix well so that all the spices are coated well to paneer.
  4. Close it and keep it aside.
  5. To a small bowl, add corn flour, pepper and salt.
  6. Add little water and prepare smooth batter without any lumps.
  7. Spread the breadcrumbs in a plate.
  8. Dip the marinated paneer into the corn flour batter.
  9. Roll the pieces into breadcrumbs.
  10. Dip the paneer pieces again into the cornflour batter.
  11. Repeat the process and roll them into the breadcrumbs.
  12. Paneer pieces should be double coated.
  13. Heat a pan with oil in medium flame.
  14. Deep fry the coated pieces in the oil.
  15. Fry till the paneer turns golden brown and crisp.
  16. Drain the excess oil with kitchen towel.
  17. Serve hot with tomato ketchup.
