Paneer and Potato Balls Biryani

Paneer Potato Biryani

Ingredients:
Basmati Rice – 1 cup
Potatoes – 3, boiled, peeled, mashed
Onions – 3, sliced
Green Chillies – 2, chopped
Rusk – 1/4 cup, powdered
Paneer – 1/2 cup, grated
Bengal Gram Dal – 3 tblsp
Horse Gram – 3 tblsp
Moong Dal – 3 tblsp
Javvarisi (Sago) – 3 tblsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Corn Flour – 1 tblsp
Ghee – 2 tblsp
Bay Leaf – 1
Green Chillies – 2
Cardamoms – 4
Cloves – 2
Cinnamon – 1/2 inch piece
Salt as per taste
Oil as required

Method:
1. Combine the dals and sago in a bowl.
2. Soak for 30 minutes and grind well.
3. Add the mashed potatoes to the ground dal.
4. Add red chilli powder, corn flour and salt.
5. Mix well and make small balls of the mixture.
6. Roll them in the powdered rusk.
7. Heat oil in a pan.
8. Fry the potato balls till golden and remove.
9. Drain excess oil and keep aside until required.
10. Heat a little ghee in a pressure cooker.
11. Add the basmati rice and fry for a minute.
12. In a separate pan, add the remaining ghee and fry the cloves, cardamom, cinnamon and bay leaf.
13. Add the onions, green chillies, garam masala powder and salt.
14. Saute well for a minute or two.
15. Add this to the pressure cooker and add 1 1/2 cups of water.
16. Pressure cook till 2 whistles.
17. Remove and add the fried potato balls and paneer.
18. Mix well.
19. Serve.
