Drumstick Kara Kuzhambu
- 2 Drumsticks chopped
- 4 Onion finely chopped
- 4 Tomatoes finely chopped
- 2 Potato or Brinjal chopped
- 4 tsp Kara Kuzhambu Powder
- handful Curry Leaves chopped
- 1 tsp Turmeric Powder
- 1 cup Tamarind Extract
- as per taste Salt
- 1/4 cup Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard Seeds
- 1/4 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- 1/2 tsp Asafoetida Powder
- 4 Dry Red Chillies
- 2 tsp Bengal Gram Dal
- handful Curry Leaves chopped
- 8 Garlic Cloves finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp Fenugreek Seeds
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add the tempering ingredients (except garlic) in the order mentioned and fry for a minute or two.
- Add garlic, onions, potatoes and drumsticks.
- Saute for 2 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder and stir well.
- Now add tomatoes and cook for a minute.
- Pour the tamarind extract and add salt.
- Mix well and bring to a boil.
- Add kara kuzhambu powder and a little water.
- Mix well and remove.
- Serve hot with rice.
