Khajoor ka Halwa Recipe

Almonds – 24 to 25
Cashewnuts – 24 to 25
Dates – 2 kg, seeds removed
Ghee – 1 cup
Cardamoms – 7 to 8, powdered
Milk – 1 litre
Pistachios – 24 to 25

1. Soak the almonds and pistachios in  hot water and remove skins.
2. Chop the dates into small pieces.
3. Fry the dates in ghee for a few minutes.
4. Add 2 to 4 cups of water and milk. Simmer on low flame.
5. Add water if required to soften dates.
6. Mash them to a pulp.
7. Add cardamom powder.
8. Simmer for a minute or two.
9. Coarsely chop pistachios, cashewnuts and almonds.
10. Add them to the dates and mix well.
11. Cook for 1 or 2 minutes till halwa consistency.
12. Cool and serve.
