How to Make Lamb Curry Flavoured with Coconut Recipe

Lamb – 500 gms, cut into 1 inch cubes
Vegetable Oil – 4 tbsp
Onions – 4, large, sliced
Ginger Paste – 1 1/2 tblsp
Garlic Paste – 1 1/2 tblsp

Roast and Grind to a paste:
Coriander Seeds – 1 tsp
Poppy Seeds – 3 tsp
Peanuts – 2 tsp
Coconut –  1/2, grated, ground
Tomatoes – 2, large, chopped, peeled
Dry Red Chillies – 7
Curry Leaves – 4 to 5

1. Heat the oil in a pan.
2. Saute the onions until golden brown.
3. Add the ginger garlic paste and saute on a low flame for 2 minutes.
4. Add the spice paste.
5. Saute for 2 minutes.
6. Add the coconut and cook till a pleasant aroma emanates.
7. Add the lamb, and the remaining ingredients.
8. Saute for 10 minutes.
9. Gradually pour in 4 cups water, stirring to blend well.
10. Bring to the bowl.
11. Cover the pan, with water on the lid and simmer.
12. Stir occasionally, till the gravy is thick and the lamb is tender.
13. Serve hot with steamed rice.
