Papaya Kurma

A delicious side dish to rice items, rotis or naans.

Papaya

Ingredients:
Raw Papaya – 1 cup, seeds removed
Tomatoes – 2
Onions – 2
Green Chillies – 2
Garam Masala Powder – 2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – a pinch
Salt as per taste
Oil as required
Cumin Seeds – little
Coriander Leaves – few, chopped

Method:
1. Heat little oil in a pan.
2. Fry the cumin seeds for 30 seconds.
3. Add onions, tomatoes, green chillies and saute well for 2 minutes.
4. Add the papaya pieces and stir.
5. Cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add 1/2 cup of water.
6. Add garam masala powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder and salt.
7. Stir to mix well.
8. Simmer for 5 minutes.
9. When the gravy starts to thicken, garnsh with coriander leaves.
10. Remove and serve.
