Fish Curry with Bora Recipe

Fish Steaks – 750 gms, cleaned
Oil – 2 tblsp
Green Chillies – 4, slit
Onion – 1, large, chopped
Sugar – 1 tsp
Ginger Paste – 1 tsp
Garlic Paste – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Ripe Bora (Snake Beans) – 500 gms, large, deseeded and halved
Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste

For Marinade:
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Lime Juice – 2 tblsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp

1. Mix the marinade ingredients and rub into fish steaks.
2. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
3. Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
4. When oil is hot, add chillies and fry for a minute.
5. Add onion and fry till brown.
6. Add sugar, ginger, garlic and all the spices except garam masala.
7. Fry for a minute.
8. Add 1 cup of water, boras and fish.
9. Cover and cook for 10 minutes.
10. Add water if required.
11. When the fish is cooked, add garam masala powder and cover.
12. Turn off heat.
13. Serve hot with plain cooked rice.
