Andhra Puliyodarai Recipe

Rice – 2 cups
Green Chillies – 3
Turmeric Powder – 2 tsp
Tamarind Extract – 1 cup
Urad Dal
Bengal Gram Dal
Red Chillies – 5 to 6
Asafoetida Powder – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves – few
Jaggery – 2 tsp
Gingelly Oil – 1/2 cup
Salt as per taste
Mustard Powder – 2 tsp

1. Add rice to a bowl.
2. Mix turmeric powder, green chillies, curry leaves and 3 tsp gingelly oil.
3. Close with a lid.
4. Heat oil in a pan.
5. Add urad dal, bengal gram dal, red chillies, asafoetida, curry leaves and tamarind extract.
6. Let it boil well.
7. Add turmeric powder and salt.
8. Stir well and let it become a little thick.
9. Add jaggery, mustard powder and little water.
10. Mix this with the rice.
11. Mix well and serve hot.
