Ingredients:
Basmati Rice – 250 gms
Ghee – 1 tblsp
Cinnamon – 2 one inch sticks
Green Cardamom – 4 pods
Milk – 2 1/2 litres
Condensed Milk – 250 gms
Sugar – 2 tblsp
Saffron Strands – 1 to 2 tsp, soaked in 1/4 cup of hot milk
Almonds – 100 gms, blanched, peeled and powdered
Seedless Raisins – 50 gms

For Decoration:
Almonds – 10, blanched, peeled and slivered

Method:
1. Wash and drain the rice.
2. Heat ghee in a pan on moderate heat.
3. Add the cinnamon sticks and cardamom pods.
4. Add the rice and milk after a few seconds.
5. Cook till the rice is tender and milk is reduced to 2 litres.
6. Add the condensed milk and remove from heat.
7. Allow it to cool for a few minutes and blend it to break the rice.
8. Return the mixture to the pan.
9. Add the sugar, saffron strands soaked in milk, powdered almonds and raisins.
10. Simmer for 5 to 6 minutes.
11. Remove from heat.
12. Garnish with the almond slivers.
13. Serve hot or chilled.
