Ingredients:
Basmati Rice – 1 1/2 cups
Ghee – 1 cup
Garam Masala – 2 tsp
Water – 2 1/4 cups
Saffron – 1/2 tsp
Warm Milk – 1/2 cup
Cashewnuts – 4 tbsp, broken, fried
Walnuts – 4 tbsp, fried
Almonds – 4 tbsp, fried
Peanuts – 4 tbsp, fried
Pistachios – 4 tbsp, fried
Raisins – 4 tbsp, fried
Rose Water – 1 tbsp
Onions – 1/2 cup, fried
Method:
1. Soak the rice in sufficient water for about 30 minutes.
2. Drain and keep aside.
3. Heat the ghee in a pan.
4. Add garam masala,
5. Saute for a few seconds.
6. Add rice and stir till pleasing aroma emanates.
7. Add water and boil till three fourth cooked.
8. Drain and keep aside.
9. Soak saffron in warm milk.
10. In a pot, sprinkle some saffron mixture.
11. Spread a layer of rice and dry fruits, then add the remaining saffron mixture, rose water, and fried onions.
12. Seal the pot with aluminum foil.
13. Cook on very low heat for 30 minutes.
14. Remove and serve hot.
