Til Aur Tamatar Chutney (Sesame Seeds and Tomato Chutney) Recipe

Ingredient:
Tomatoes – 200 gms, chopped
Sesame Seeds – 2 tbsp
Vegetable Oil – 2 tbsp
Onions – 3/4 cup, chopped
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida – a pinch
Split Black Gram – 20 gms

For the Tempering:
Vegetable Oil – 2 tbsp
Dry Red Chillies – 5
Curry Leaves – a few
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp

Method:
1. Heat the oil in a pan
2. Add the onions and saute till light brown.
3. Add the red chilli powder, turmeric powder, asafoetida and sesame seeds.
4. Saute for a few minutes.
5. Add the tomatoes and split black gram.
6. Cook for 10 minutes.
7. Remove from heat and keep aside to cool.
8. Blend to a fine paste.
9. For the tempering, heat the oil in a pan, add the dry red chillies, curry leaves and mustard seeds.
10. Saute till they crackle.
11. Remove from heat, mix into the prepared chutney and serve.
