Chicken Supreme Pizza

By Praveen Kumar
A loaded pizza built on a readymade base, this recipe layers pizza sauce, shredded chicken, capsicum, mushrooms, olives, onion, and tomato, then finishes with a generous covering of cheese. Ten minutes in a hot oven is all it takes to get a crisp base and fully melted cheese. A sprinkle of fresh coriander leaves before serving lifts the whole thing.

Chicken Supreme Pizza is one of those recipes that comes together quickly without asking much of you. The readymade base does the heavy lifting, so the focus is entirely on layering the toppings well and getting the oven temperature right. Shredded chicken, sliced mushrooms, black olives, capsicum, onion, and tomato make this a properly filled pizza rather than a sparse one. The combination of textures, soft chicken, tender vegetables, and melted cheese on a crisp base, is what makes it satisfying. If you enjoy a BBQ Chicken Pizza, this supreme version is worth trying for its broader range of toppings.

About the Recipe

This recipe uses a readymade pizza base, which keeps preparation straightforward. The sauce goes on first as a thin, even layer, not pooled in the centre. Toppings are spread across the whole surface so every slice gets an even share. Cheese goes on last, over the toppings, so it melts down and holds everything together. The oven is preheated to 200 degrees Celsius before the pizza goes in, which is important for a crisp base. Eight to ten minutes is usually enough, but keep an eye on the cheese rather than the clock.

Why You Will Love This Recipe

The biggest reason to make this at home is control over what goes on top. You choose how much chicken, how many olives, and how thick the cheese layer is. The readymade base means there is no dough to prepare or rest, so the whole recipe moves quickly. For anyone who has tried Spinach Cheese Pizza and wants a meatier option, this Chicken Supreme Pizza delivers that with a well-balanced set of toppings that work together rather than competing.

Cooking Tips

The most common beginner mistake is adding too much sauce, which makes the base soggy before it has a chance to crisp. Spread the sauce thinly and evenly. Do not pile the toppings too high or the centre of the pizza will stay wet while the edges overcook. Make sure the oven is fully preheated before the pizza goes in. If the shredded chicken is cold from the refrigerator, let it come to room temperature first so it heats through properly in the short baking time.

Top Tips

  • Preheat the oven fully to 200 degrees Celsius before placing the pizza inside. A cold oven will not crisp the base properly.
  • Spread the sauce in a thin, even layer and leave a small border at the edge so the base can crisp up around the rim.
  • Pat the mushroom slices dry before placing them on the pizza. Wet mushrooms release moisture during baking and can make the centre soft.
  • Use shredded chicken that is already cooked. Raw chicken will not cook through in 8 to 10 minutes at this temperature.
  • Let the pizza cool for two to three minutes after removing it from the oven before cutting. This helps the cheese set slightly so the toppings do not slide off.

Serving and Storing Suggestions

Serve the pizza straight from the oven once it has rested for a couple of minutes and the coriander leaves have been scattered on top. Cut into slices and serve as a main course or as part of a spread. Leftover slices can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one day. Reheat in a dry pan on a low flame or in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for five minutes to bring the base back to a reasonable crispness. Avoid the microwave as it makes the base chewy.

Nutrient Benefits

Shredded chicken is a useful source of protein. Capsicum and tomato contribute vitamin C. Mushrooms provide B vitamins and some potassium. Black olives add a small amount of healthy fat. Coriander leaves bring in a little vitamin K and folate. Taken together, the toppings on this pizza offer a reasonable mix of protein, vitamins, and minerals alongside the carbohydrates from the base.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use leftover roast chicken or boiled chicken for this recipe?

Yes, either works well. The key is that the chicken must already be fully cooked before it goes on the pizza. Shred it into small pieces so it spreads evenly across the base and heats through properly during the 8 to 10 minutes of baking.

What kind of cheese works best for this pizza?

Mozzarella is the most common choice because it melts smoothly and does not overpower the other toppings. Processed cheese slices also melt well if mozzarella is not available. Avoid hard cheeses like parmesan on their own as they do not melt the same way at this temperature and baking time.

Can I make this without an oven?

A conventional oven gives the best result for a crisp base and evenly melted cheese. If you do not have one, a thick-bottomed pan with a lid on a low to medium flame can work. Place the assembled pizza in the pan, cover it, and cook for 10 to 12 minutes until the cheese melts and the base firms up. The base will not be as uniformly crisp, but it is a workable alternative.

How do I prevent the pizza base from going soggy?

Three things help most. First, use a thin layer of sauce rather than a generous one. Second, pat wet vegetables like mushrooms and tomato slices dry before placing them on the base. Third, make sure the oven is fully preheated so the base starts crisping immediately when the pizza goes in. A soggy base usually comes from excess moisture either in the sauce or the toppings.

Can I prepare this pizza in advance?

You can assemble the pizza up to an hour ahead and keep it covered at room temperature. Do not assemble it too far in advance as the sauce will start to soften the base before baking. It is better to bake it fresh and reheat leftovers in the oven or a dry pan rather than assembling it the night before.
