Kalonji (Onion Seeds)
Chicken – 350 gms, skinned, chopped
Ghee – 1/4 cup
Onions – 2, chopped, pureed
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp
Green Chillies – 2, finely chopped
Tomatoes – 2, pureed
Yogurt – 1/2 tblsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Kalonji (Onion Seeds) – 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste


1. Heat ghee in a pan over moderate flame.
2. Fry the pureed onion until transparent.
3. Add ginger garlic paste and green chillies.
4. Fry for a minute and add the pureed tomato.
5. Add the yogurt and cook till the mixture is thick.
6. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder.
7. Stir well and add the chicken pieces.
8. Add kalonji and salt.
9. Stir well for 2 minutes and add water as required.
10. Cook till the chicken is done and the gravy thickens.
11. Remove and serve hot.
