Ingredients:
Broiler Chicken – 500 gms, cut into 5 to 6 pieces
Yogurt – 1/2 cup
Water – 1/2 cup
Black Cardamom – 1, crushed
Oil – 2 tblsp
Bay Leaf – 1
Cinnamon – 1 one inch stick
Cloves – 2
Red Chilli Paste – 3/4 tsp
Ginger Powder – 1/2 tsp
Saunf Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida – a small pinch
Salt as per taste

Method:
1. Combine yogurt, crushed cardamom and salt in a bowl.
2. Marinate the chicken pieces in this and keep the bowl in a fridge for 3 hours.
3. Heat oil in a pan.
4. Add the marinated chicken, asafoetida, bay leaf, cinnamon stick and cloves.
5. Cook for about 10 minutes till oil rises to the surface and yogurt dries up.
6. Reduce flame and cook till the chicken turns rich brown colour.
7. Add the red chilli paste and stir for a few seconds.
8. Pour 1/2 cup of water, ginger powder, saunf and garam masala powder.
9. Cook till the gravy thickens.
10. Serve hot with rice.
