Yera Chapa (Fried Fish in Tomato Gravy)

Ingredients:
Oil – 1/2 cup
Fish Fillets – 5 two inch pieces
Salt as per taste
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Tomatoes – 2, chopped very finely
Onions – 2, chopped finely
Ginger – 1/2 tsp
Garlic – 1 tsp
Coriander Powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Potatoes – 1 to 2, peeled and cut lengthwise
Red Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp

Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Fry the fish fillets till brown. Remove and keep aside.
3. Mix the salt and turmeric powder.
4. Rub it onto the fish fillets.
5. Grind together the tomatoes, onions, ginger, garlic, coriander and cumin to a fine paste.
6. In the same pan, fry the potatoes lightly.
7. Add the ground onion-tomato mixture.
8. Fry over low-moderate heat.
9. Add the chilli powder and 2 cups of water.
10. Add the fish fillets and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
11. Serve with boiled rice.
