A simple rice dish made with Jeera (cumin seeds) especially when you are short of time.
Ingredients:
Basmati Rice – 2 cups
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 2 tsp
Onion – 1, sliced
Water – 4 cups
Vegetable Oil – 2 tblsp
Salt as per taste
Method:
1. Wash the basmati rice.
2. Add 4 cups of water.
3. Heat oil in a pan.
4. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter.
5. Add onions and fry for sometime.
6. Add cumin powder, rice along with the water and salt.
7. Mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
8. Remove and serve.
