Rajma Pulao (Red Beans Pulao) Recipe

A delicious and healthy pulao made with rajma (red kidney beans). Serve with raita or kurma for lunch or dinner.
Rajma Pulao (Red Beans Pulao)

Ingredients:
Rajma (Red Kidney Beans) – 3/4 cup, soaked in water for 1 hour
Basmati Rice – 3 cups, washed, drained
Green Chillies – 4 to 5, finely chopped
Onions – 2, chopped
Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tsp
Tomatoes – 2, chopped
Cardamoms – 2 to 4
Cloves – 7 to 10
Black Peppercorns – few
Bay Leaves – 4
Salt as per taste
Oil or Ghee – 4 tblsp

Method:
1. Drain the rajma and pressure cook until soft. Keep aside.
2. Pressure cook the basmati rice and keep aside.
3. Heat oil or ghee in a pan.
4. Add the onions, tomatoes, cardamoms, ginger garlic paste cloves, peppercorns and bay leaves.
5. Saute for a minute or two.
6. Add the cooked rice and stir well for 5 minutes.
7. Sprinkle some salt and add the cooked rajma.
8. Stir well.
9. Garnish with coriander leaves.
10. Serve with raita.
