Ingredients:
Breast of Mutton - 500 gms, cut into 1 1/2 inch cubes
Chana Dal - 1/2 cup
Oil - 1/2 cup
Cloves - 6
Cinnamon - 3 one inch sticks
Cardamoms - 4
Green Chillies - 3, slit lengthwise
Onions - 2, finely sliced
Ginger Paste - 1 tsp
Garlic Paste - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp
Coriander Seeds - 1 tsp, roasted and powdered
Salt as per taste
Mint Leaves - handful
Coriander Leaves - 1 bunch, chopped
Tamarind Pulp - 2 tblsp
Curry Leaves - 8
Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp

Method:
1. Soak dal in water for 2 hours.
2. Heat oil in a pan.
3. Add cloves, cinnamon, cardamoms and green chillies.
4. Fry till cardamoms swell and chillies change colour.
5. Add onions and fry till brown.
6. Add ginger and garlic paste, turmeric and coriander powder.
7. Add the mutton  pieces and fry in pan with the spices till it releases its juices.
8. Saute to evaporate juices and brown the mutton well.
9. Add 3 cups of water.
10. Drain dal, boil in 2 cups of water with 1/2 tsp salt till soft.
11. Blend till smooth and add to the mutton.
12. Cook till mutton is tender.
13. Add salt, mint, coriander, curry leaves, tamarind pulp and red chilli powder.
14. Simmer for 8 to 10 minutes.
15. Remove from fire.
16. Serve hot with rice.
