Fried Fish in Gravy
Ingredients:
King Fish – 375 gms, sliced, washed, lightly salted
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon – 1/2 inch piece, powdered
Cloves – 3, powdered
Oil – 1 tblsp
Onion – 1, small, sliced
Garlic – 3 cloves, crushed
Green Chillies – 1 to 2, slit
Vinegar – 3/4 tblsp
Salt as per taste
Coriander Leaves – handful, chopped
Oil for frying
Flour for dusting

Method:
1. Heat oil in a pan over moderate flame.
2. Dust the fish pieces with flour and fry lightly in oil.
3. Do not deep fry. Remove and keep aside.
4. Combine cumin, cinnamon and clove powders with little water.
5. Heat 2 tblsp of oil in a pan.
6. Stir-fry the onion and garlic lightly.
7. Add the combined masala powders and fry for a minute.
8. Pour 1/2 cup of water.
9. Add green chillies and vinegar.
10. Bring to a boil and add the fish pieces.
11. Reduce heat and simmer till done.
12. Add salt and pepper.
13. Garnish with coriander leaves.
14. Serve hot.
