Shrimp with Dal

Ingredients:
Shrimp – 100 gms, cleaned
Moong Dal – 1/2 cup
Potato – 2, medium, cubed
Jackfruit – 250 gms, cubed
Onion – 1, chopped
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Garlic – 5 cloves
Salt as per taste
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1/4 tsp
Oil – 2 tblsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Water – 2 cups

Method:
1. Wash and soak the dal for 30 minutes.
2. Mix the shrimps with salt and turmeric. Keep aside.
3. Grind onion, ginger and garlic together.
4. Cook the dal, vegetables, salt, turmeric powder, cumin powder and chilli powder till done.
5. Heat oil in a pan.
6. Add cumin seeds and fry for 30 seconds.
7. Add the ground spices and fry till lumpy.
8. Add shrimp and fry till pink.
9. Add the dal and simmer for 5 minutes.
10. Remove and transfer to a serving dish.
11. Serve hot with rice.
