Fish Head with Mixed Vegetables

Ingredients:
Fish Head – 1
Turmeric Powder – 1 1/2 tsp
Salt as per taste
Potato – 1
Brinjal – 1
Poi Stem – 1
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Bay Leaf – 1
Chilli Powder – 1/4 tsp
Raw Banana – 1
Salt as per taste
Pumpkin – 1, small
Onion – 1/2
Garlic – 10 cloves
Oil – 3 tblsp
Five Spice Powder – 1/2 tsp

Method:
1. Split the fish head into half.
2. Apply 1/2 the turmeric and some salt all over.
3. Peel and cut the vegetables into 1 inch cubes.
4. Remove poi leaves from their stem and cut.
5. Cut the stem into 2 or 3 inch pieces.
6. Grind ginger, garlic and cumin together.
7. Heat 1 tblsp oil in a pan.
8. Fry the fish head till nicely brown.
9. Remove and keep aside.
10. Fry the poi in 1/2 tblsp oil and keep aside.
11. Heat the remaining oil.
12. Add bayleaf and five spice powder.
13. Add the ground masala and fry for a minute.
14. Add the vegetables, turmeric, salt and chilli powder.
15. Cover and cook, stirring from time to time, till half done.
16. Uncover, add the fish heads and poi.
17. Simmer till cooked.
18. Serve hot.
