  • 250 gms Brinjals (quartered)
  • 1/2 to 3/4 cup Tamarind Pulp
  • 1 Onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup Coconut (grated or ground)
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Moong Dal
  • Mustard Seeds (little)
  • 1/8 tsp Asafoetida
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic (ground)
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Poppy Seeds
  • 1/2 inch Cinnamon (stick)
  • 1 Cloves
  • 1/2 to 3/4 tsp Curd
  • 1/2 tbsp Jaggery
  • Salt as per taste
  • 1/2 tsp Red Chilli Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Sesame Seeds (ground)
  • Turmeric Powder (a pinch)
  • Coriander Leaves (handful, chopped)

  • Fry moong dal, mustard seeds, and asafoetida with onions.
  • Add ground garlic and fry.

  • Mix in curd, jaggery, and salt.
