Mustard Seed Rice

Ingredients:
Long Grained Rice – 1 cup
Peanuts – 3 tblsp
Salt to taste

Spice Paste:
Mustard Seeds – 1 tblsp
Fresh Coconut – 1/2, grated
Dry Red Chillies – 4
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Asafoetida Powder – 1/2 tsp
Tamarind – a marble sized ball

For Tempering:
Ghee – 1 tblsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Black Gram Dal – 1 1/2 tsp
Bengal Gram Dal – 1 1/2 tsp
Dry Red Chilli – 1, halved
Curry Leaves – few

Method:
1. Pressure cook the rice and set aside.
2. Grind fine all the ingredients for the spice paste, using a little water.
3. Heat the ghee and add all the ingredients for tempering. When the mustard seeds splutter, add the peanuts and fry for a couple of minutes.
4. Mix in the spice paste and fry till the raw smell disappears.
5. Add the rice and salt and stir to mix till well blended.
6. Serve hot.
