Pakhtooni Dal Recipe

Ingredients:       
(serves 4 to 5)

whole urad dal(black gram) with skin
ginger paste – 1 1/2 tsp
garlic paste – 1 1/2 tsp
tomato puree(readymade carton) – 200 gms
onion paste – 1/2 cup
butter – 50 gms
fresh cream – 100 gms
chilly pdr – 1 tsp or accdly.
garam masala – 1 1/2 tsp
salt to taste
oil for frying – 3 – 4 tbsps

Method:
Before you start this, soak the dal for an hour or so. Drain the water after that.
Take a cooker, add oil & saute onion paste, ginger paste & garlic paste till it changes colour slightly.
To this add the tomato puree, salt, garam masala, chilly pdr, urad dal & pressure cook it till it gets cooked. Add water in such a way that all these ingredients are properly soaked.
After its cooked, add the butter & cream & cook on a low flame for a few mins.
Serve hot with chapaties or parathas.

NOTE: Use ready made tomato puree for best results as it gives a good colour to the gravy

    You can use standard Britannia cheese that you get in the super market.
