Rice Recipes
Rice is one of the staple food of India along with Roti. No South Indian meal is complete with Rice in some form or the other. It is cooked in innumerable ways and you can serve a prepared rice dish for any meal. Sometimes dal is cooked along with rice as in pongal varieties. Coconut, vegetables, lime juice are all used in seasoning along with red and green chillies, pepper, cumin seeds, sesame seeds, dal and curry leaves. Seasoned rice is served with a variety of pachadis and appalams or vadams. Seasoned rice can be used for packed lunches and school tiffin boxes as well.
