Khud Pukht Qureshi Recipe

Lentil – 1 cup
Water – 4 cups
Salt to taste
Yellow Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Garlic Paste – 1 tbsp
Cream – 1/2 cup
Yoghurt – 1 cup
Butter – 1/2 cup
Garlic – 1 tbsp, Chopped
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Onions – 1/2 cup, Chopped
Dry Red Chillies – 4

1. Boil the lentil with water, salt and yellow chilli powder till soft.
2. Add the garlic paste and cook for 10 minutes.
3. Pour in the cream and yoghurt and 1/4 cup butter.
4. Cook again for 10 minutes, stirring frequently so that the fat is incorporated into the lentil mixture.
5. Heat the remaining butter in a pan.
6. Add the garlic, cumin seeds and onions.
7. Saute for 2 minutes.
8. Add the dry red chillies and saute till brown.
9. Pour this mixture into the boiled lentil.
10. Serve hot.
