Naatu Kozhi Rasam

Naatu Kozhi (Country Chicken) – 500 gms, cleaned, washed, chopped
Tomato – 1
Onion – 1
Dry Red Chillies – 4
Black Peppercornss – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Turmeric – a small piece
Garlic – 5 to 6 cloves
Sambar Onions – 10
Curd – little
Turmeric Powder – a pinch
Saunf – a pinch
Salt as per taste
Curry leaves – few

1. Grind together the peppercorns, cumin seeds, red chillies, garlic and turmeric to a fine powder.
2. Add turmeric powder to curd and whisk well.
3. Pour this over the chicken pieces and rub all over.
4. Keep aside.
5. Heat oil in a pan.
6. Fry the saunf for 30 seconds.
7. Add chopped onions, tomatoes, marinated chicken and stir well.
8. Simmer for 5 minutes.
9. Transfer to a pressure cooker and add the ground powder.
10. Pour 4 cups of water and add some curry leaves and salt.
11. Pressure cook for 2 whistles and remove.
12. Serve hot.
