Pappali Kootu

Ingredients:
Green Papaya – 1
Onion – 1, chopped
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Ground nuts – 2 tblsp, roasted
Coriander Leaves – 1 tblsp, chopped
Tamarind Water – 2 tblsp
Salt to taste

For Seasoning:
Oil – 1 tblsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Green Chillies – 2, slit
Curry Leaf – 1 sprig

Fry in 2 tsp Oil and Grind to paste:
Coriander Seeds – 2 tsp
Urad Dal – 1/2 tsp
Cumin Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Red Chillies – 2
Coconut – 3 tblsp, grated

Method:
1. Wash, peel and cut papay into small cubes.
2. Add turmeric powder, little salt and cook till tender.
3. Add tamarind water, cook for 1 to 2 mnutes longer.
4. Add ground paste, mix, simmer for a while.
5. Heat oil, add seasonings and when done, add chopped onion, fry till browned.
6. Add this to papay along with coriander leaves and mix thoroughly.
7. Powder roughly the roasted ground nuts and add to kootu.
8. Mix and serve hot.
