Rangeela Mixture

This is a tasty and an interesting variation to the regular mixtures and can be made during festive occasions.
Special Mixture

Ingredients:
Bengal Gram Flour (Besan) – 100 gms
Rice Flour – 1 1/2 tblsp
Cooking Soda – a pinch
Salt as per taste
Banana Chips – 50 gms
Maida – 50 gms
Dry Peas – 50 gms, soaked, drained
Rice Candies – 0 gms
Sugar – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves – few, lightly fried in oil
Fried Poha (Aval) – 100 gms
Fried Peanuts (Groundnuts) – 50 gms
Black Pepper Powder – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 250 ml
Asafoetida Powder – a pinch
Biscuits – 50 gms, crumbled (or you can use Little Hearts or any similar biscuits)
Cashewnuts – few, lightly fried (optional)

Method:
1. Combine the gram flour, rice flour, cooking soda and salt in a bowl.
2. Add a little water and mix to a bajji batter consistency (thick and not so watery).
3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium flame.
4. Using a boondi plate/ladle, rub the batter over the frying pan. Take care as the oil will be very hot.
5. Fry the boondi till golden and remove.
6. Drain excess oil and keep aside.
7. Mix maida, salt and little water in an another bowl.
8. Make small appalams (puris) and cut them into desired shapes.
9. Fry these in hot oil till golden and remove.
10. Drain excess water from the peas and fry them in hot oil.
11. Combine all the ingredients in a large bowl and toss well to combine evenly.
12. Serve.
