Tomato Masala Dal Recipe

Urad Dal – 1/2 cup + 1/4 tblsp
Tomato – 1/2 cup, chopped
Green Chillies – 2, chopped
Oil – 3 tsp
Ghee – 1 to 2 tsp
Coriander Leaves – few
Curry Leaves – few
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/4 tsp
Lemon Juice – 1 tsp
Salt as per taste

1. Pressure cook 1/2 cup of urad dal till 2 whistles.
2. Heat ghee and oil in a pan.
3. Add the mustard seeds, turmeric powder, 1/4 tblsp urad dal and cook for a minute.
4. Add the tomatoes and fry till the raw smell disappears.
5. Add the cooked dal, red chilli powder and salt.
6. Stir to mix well.
7. Simmer for a few minutes.
8. Add curry leaves and coriander leaves.
9. Stir to mix.
10. Add lemon juice and mix again.
11. Serve hot.
