Nadan Meen Kari
Ingredients:
Fish – 250 gms, cleaned, cut into small pieces and washed
Oil – 3/4 tblsp + 1/4 tblsp
Mustard Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek Seeds – 1/2 tsp
Dry Red Chillies – 2 to 3, broken
Green Chillies – 2 to 3, slit
Ginger – 1 one inch piece, chopped
Garlic – 3 cloves, chopped
Small Onions – 5, chopped
Curry Leaves – handful
Turmeric Powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Gambooge Petals – 1, torn (also known as Malabar Tamarind or Kodumpuli), soaked in 1/2 cup of water

Method:
1. Heat 3/4 tblsp of oil in a pan.
2. Fry the mustard seeds till it starts to splutter.
3. Add fenugreek seeds, red chillies, green chillies, ginger, garlic, small onions and curry leaves.
4. Fry till onions turn brown.
5. Add turmeric powder, salt and gambooge petals with water.
6. Add fish and cover pan with a lid.
7. Cook over low heat till fish is tender and gravy thickens.
8. Mix in 1/4 tblsp of oil just before serving.
