Chingri Macher Malai Curry Recipe

Chingri Macher Malai Curry
Prawns – 1 kg, shelled
Turmeric Powder – 3 tsp
Salt – 3 to 4 tsp
Thick Coconut Milk – 1/2 cup
Water – 3 cups
Oil – 1/2 cup
Onion – 1, large, chopped
Red Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1 tsp
Green Chillies – 3, chopped

1. Mix salt and turmeric powder in a bowl.
2. Add the prawns and marinate for 30 to 45 minutes.
3. Meanwhile, combine the coconut and water in another bowl.
4. Heat oil in a pan over moderate flame.
5. Fry the marinated prawns till golden brown.
6. Remove and keep aside.
7. Fry the onions in the same oil till golden brown.
8. Add red chilli powder and stir-fry for 2 minutes.
9. Pour the coconut milk and bring to a boil.
10. Add the prawns and green chillies.
11. Cover the pan with a lid.
12. Reduce flame and cook for 20 minutes or till gravy thickens.
13. Serve hot.

    You can use standard Britannia cheese that you get in the super market.
