Prawn Balchao

Ingredients:
Prawns – 250 gms
Garlic Flakes – 6
Pepper powder – 1 tsp
Dhania powder – 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds – 1/2 tsp (powder)
Onions – 4, medium size chopped
Turmeric powder – 2 tsp
Ginger – a small piece
Mustard seeds – 1tsp
a little Hing
Tomatoes – 100 gms, chopped
Oil – 1/2 cup
Salt and vinegar to taste

Method:
1. Peal and clean prawns, wash and apply turmeric powder and salt, keep aside for 10 minutes and boil it.
2. Grind garlic and ginger to a fine paste and add vinegar to grind.
3. Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seeds and when it crackles add onions, tomatoes, garlic paste and fry until brown in colour.
4. Add hing and all the masala powders, salt and mix the boiled prawns with it.
5. Remove, cool and bottle.

This dish from Goa  is almost like a pickle! Serve it with hot plain boiled rice.
