Chickpeas and Mango Curry Recipe

chopped raw mango

Chickpeas – 1 to 2 cups, soaked
Unripe Mangoes – 1 cup, chopped
Onion – 1, small, chopped
Curry Powder – 1 tsp
Garam Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Ghee – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 1 tsp
Red Chilli Powder as per taste
Salt as per taste

1. Drain the chickpeas and boil until tender.
2. Heat oil and ghee in a pan over medium flame.
3. Add onions, curry powder, garam masala powder, red chilli powder and salt.
4. Saute for 2 to 3 minutes.
5. Drain the chickpeas and add to the pan.
6. Cook for another 5 minutes.
7. Add the mango pieces and cover the pan with a lid.
8. Simmer for 5 minutes, stirring from time to time.
9. If required, add 1/4 cup of water.
10. Remove the lid and simmer for another 2 to 3 minutes.
11. Transfer to a serving bowl.
12. Serve hot with rice.
