Pachai Payaru (Green Gram) Vadai Recipe

Green Gram / Mung Bean
Pachai Payaru (Green Gram) – 1 cup
Raw Rice – 2 tblsp
Ginger – 1/4 inch piece, peeled
Peppercorns – 1/4 tsp
Saunf – 1/4 tsp
Green Chillies – 2
Oil as required
Salt as per taste

1. Soak the pachai payaru for 3 hours.
2. Separately soak the rice for 30 to 40 minutes.
3. Drain both and grind together with ginger, green chillies, peppercorns, saunf and salt to a thick batter.
4. Make small balls of the mixture and flatten them slightly.
5. Heat oil for frying over medium flame.
6. Fry the prepared vadais till golden brown.
7. Remove and serve at once.
