Narthangai Kuzhambu

Narthangai / Citron
Narthangai (Citron) – 2 cups
Salt as per taste
Tamarind Extract – 1 cup
Oil – 2 tsp
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – a pinch

Dry roast and grind to a powder:

Sesame Seeds – 2 tsp
Coriander Seeds – 1 tblsp
Urad Dal – 2 tsp
Dry Red Chillies – 4

1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Saute the narthangai pieces for a minute or two.
3. Add turmeric powder and stir.
4. Add tamarind extract, salt and bring to a boil.
5. Add the ground powder and stir well.
6. Bring to a boil again.
7. Remove and serve hot with rice.
