Herbal (Mooligai) Chutney

Vallarai Keerai
Vallarai Keerai – 1 cup, cleaned, washed
Mint Leaves – 1 cup
Coriander Leaves – 1/2 cup
Curry Leaves – few
Ginger – 1/2 inch piece
Green Chillies – 3 to 5 or as desired
Small Onions – 10
Mustard Seeds – 1 tsp
Urad Dal – 1 tsp
Lemon Juice – 3 tsp
Oil as required
Salt as per taste

1. Heat oil in a pan.
2. Fry the urad dal and mustard seeds for a minute.
3. Add the chopped onions, green chillies, peeled ginger, coriander leaves, mint leaves, curry leaves and vallarai keerai.
4. Stir-fry for a few minutes and remove.
5. Allow it to cool and add salt.
6. Grind together to a smooth/coarse paste.
7. Add lemon juice and mix well.
8. Serve as a side dish to chapati, roti or samosa.
